Closing Thoughts
President Obama is closing his speech by saying some people lost faith in him. The rest of us never had that faith to lose. A small businessman wrote Obama saying that his company never considers failing. The poor businessman is delusional in thinking his company is too big to fail.
The second time I agreed with President Obama is at the end, when he said, “God Bless America.”
Gays in the Military
I think gays will soon be allowed in the military for one purpose. I think a draft is coming. Too many people will try to use the lame “I’m gay” excuse to get out of the draft. Allowing gays in the military will close that loophole which has prevented people from serving against their will for years.
Sanctions
We will use sanctions against countries that violate international laws. We have done that against North Korea for 60 years. We have done that to Cuba for 50 years. Iran is next: They will soon enjoy the same success of sanctions that North Korea and Cuba’s dictators have enjoyed for years.
Now I am Confused
President Obama said that our troops will be leaving Iraq soon. While Democrats and again with the Republicans gave the President a standing ovation, the Generals in the crowd did what the Supremes did. It seems that Obama is more popular with people working against him than with people working under him.
The Blame Game
Instead of blaming the other person, politicians should do what I do: Thank the other person for an opportunity to build one’s own character. I don’t blame the driver who rammed into my car for demolishing my car. I thanked her for allowing me to find an excuse to be late for work.
Ticking Off the Supreme Court
President Obama made a comment about last week’s Supreme Court decision allowing corporations to be treated as an individual for campaign contributions. While Democrats and (a rarity) Republicans gave the President a standing ovation, the SUpreme Court justices sat there in their robes with their arms folded.
