A Great Christmas Gift!
I know Christmas is over for most of us. But those of Greek or Russian Orthodox religions, it’s not for another 11 days. It is easy for me to say that it is a great Christmas gift, but I admit I am biased. Besides; it is better to show than to tell:
More proof that I am biased: Clicking the picture will lead you to the site where you can buy a mug for yourself or a loved one.
Et tu, Jimmy?
Running for President has just become a lot harder. It was bad enough running against President Obama and whomever the Republicans conjure up. Now I am running against a viable candidate.
Jimmy McMillan has announced he is running for President as a Republican candidate. He received more votes for governor of one state in 2010 (New York) than I did for president in 2008 in 50 states. If you watch the video, you will see he has had no problem getting women for his video. I only need one woman, and she doesn’t have to have me in the video if she doesn’t want me in it.
I am about to head down to Washington for Christmas. I will be spending the holiday with my parents, my daughter Patricia, and some disgruntled Senate staffers. There will be no blog entries tomorrow or Sunday. Merry Christmas from the entire Ahmnodt Heare for President campaign team!
Martin Luther King Day
Monday is Martin Luther King Day. Yesterday was Martin Luther King’s birthday. He would have turned 81 yesterday.
One reason why Martin Luther King’s birthday isn’t celebrated more is because we celebrate it on a Monday and not on the 15th. Many businesses will be open on Monday. Everything except for banks and the post office will be open.
Everything is closed on Christmas because it is always on December 25. It’s not on the fourth Monday of December or the first Sunday after the Detroit Lions are eliminated from the playoffs.
Poor Martin Luther King. His birthday will always be “celebrated” on a Monday. Monday is a bad day to celebrate a birthday. Everybody has a bad day on Mondays.
If I am elected President, I will make Martin Luther King’s birthday on January 15th every year. There will be no more “It’s the 18th this year, 17th next year, etc. How would you like it if your birthday was always on a Monday? That’s what I thought.
Nap Time
Special thanks to http://haruth.com/r/RedskinsHailtotheRedskins.html
The next two weeks are going to be very slow. Business is usually slow until following the new year. People want to enjoy the holidays, which means staying away from politics. I have done my Christmas and Festivus shopping and am only two layaway payments from Vanna White Day.
I have started napping. This will keep me awake when Congress votes at 1:00 AM. It will also keep me alert as the Redskins spank the New York Giants tonight.
And now… The Washington Anthem:
Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!
Run or pass and score — we want a lot more!
Beat ’em, Swamp ’em,
Touchdown! — Let the points soar!
Fight on, fight on ‘Til you have won
Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah!
Hail to the Redskins!
Hail Victory!
Braves on the Warpath!
Fight for old D.C.!
Hail to the Redskins
Another Snowy Saturday
It’s days like today that makes me wonder if God wants me to be president. This is the third consecutive Saturday with snow. Events keep getting canceled or postponed. There are a few adjustments I am making to my schedule:
- No “Global Warming” events until after April 15. It always snows when a global warming or climate change meeting is scheduled.
- No flying to or from campaign events – Nothing is worse than being stuck at an airport because the airport is snowed in. Sleeping at Logan Airport in Boston sucks.
- Trips to Washington, DC will be limited to visiting my parents. If I can sneak in some time, I will visit supporters like David.
- Most of my campaign traveling will be done by rail. Railroads tend to stay open longer than roadways. That and there is usually a hottie by the train bar.
I will be in Washington, DC next weekend to visit my parents and Patricia for Christmas. I got Patricia a special gift. I will be spending a quiet New Year’s at home and watch football all New Year’s Day.
Thanksgiving Before Christmas
Please forgive my tardiness for this post, but it could be applied for future holiday seasons. I have come up with a proposal that will make things more sane in future Thanksgiving weekends. But it will require action (or more accurately, inaction) on your part. It will also have to do some publicity so that everybody will know we mean business. Below are some of my demands – if you have any you wish to add, please feel free to add them in the comments section.
I plan on boycotting any company who runs Christmas / Holiday ads before noon on Thanksgiving. I also plan on boycotting any store that has their Black Friday sale before 6:00AM on Friday morning for the entire holiday season. Although I will not boycott games broadcast with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, I will watch the game with the volume off. Advertisers will have a hard time getting me to buy their stuff if I can’t hear the commercials.
If this is something you are interested in, please let me know and I will start a formal petition to give to stores and companies who run Christmas ads.
