Next Round of Tests

The bloodwork results were inconclusive.  I now have to go to Albany, NY for three days starting Monday for more bloodwork and a series of tests including a stress test.  I don’t know why I have to go through these tests because I have felt well for the last few days.  The only thing making me sick is the damned health care system.

Albany will be a good place to go because of other events happening around that time.  I will be the Grand Marshall of the Spring Parade nearby on Sunday.  The parade organizer is a supporter of mine and voted for me in 2008.  She told the parade committee that I would be the ideal candidate for Grand Marshall because I have run a successful landscaping business for years.  I dropped the landscaping business in 2009 to concentrate on my marketing business and my presidential campaign.  She had to mention the landscaping business because the emphasis is spring and the parade prohibits people holding office or running for office from being a Grand Marshall.

I also have to be in the area on Thursday because I was invited to the annual “Cinco de Abril Festival” in Kerhonson, NY.  They have a “Cinco de Abril” because they don’t like waiting until May 5 for “Cinco de Mayo.”

This is going to be tough because I have work to do next week.  I’ll be sneaking work in between tests and after testing.  I’ll also have to work on Saturday in case I can’t sneak in time during the week.  I have a presentation to make next Friday and I fully intend to make that presentation.  (It’s one of the things I get paid to do.)  At least if I get sick from the stress and the workload and the squeezing of time, I will be in a hospital most of the time.

My Hospital Visit

I had quite a bad mishap yesterday.  I found myself in the hospital for a few hours, but I am doing fine now.  Thanks to my neighbor for filling people in on what happened to me yesterday.  And an order of thanks for crossing out where I keep my passwords for this blog, my Facebook page, and my banking records.

The longest part of yesterday’s ordeal was the wait in the waiting room.  The hospital had a policy of taking people according to the severity of the injury.  They claim that a boy with “multiple aortic lacerations” was a higher priority than a person with a possible concussion.  They also took the woman who lost her pinky even though she wasn’t bleeding and her pinky was seperated from her hand.

I was finally checked five hours after I came in.  The doctor asked a few questions, shone a flashlight in my eyes, and let me go.  I asked him if I was entitled to any medication.  He told me to rest for the rest of the evening and I should be fine tomorrow (which is now today).

The hospital bill was $1500.  I started feeling sick.  my head was pounding.  I realized that my wallet was at home because I forgot to put it in the pants pocket I was wearing after showering.  I also had no way home since I forgot my cell phone and my car was at home.  It was dark and cold when I finally got back home.

I basically have today and tomorrow to do a week’s worth of work.  There will be time in there to fight the cost of the doctor hovering the light from a flashlight over my eyes.

A Bad, Bad Day

Today is Monday.  That is bad enough.  Nobody should have to go through celebrating their birthday exclusively on Mondays.  The day I had today prevents me from wanting to celebrating any birthday.

My day started innocently enough with grinds in my coffee.  That happens once or twice a month.  The day would get worse.  My elderly neighbor slipped on a patch of ice and needed help getting up and a ride to the hospital.  I carried her and stepped in a poop pile.

I drove her to the hospital when I got stuck in traffic.  The car warmed up and I soon realized I didn’t scrape the poop off of my shoe and the smell was getting to me.  I got to the hospital and dropped off my neighbor.

The front passenger tire blew out and I had to change it.  I changed the tire, but the car was side-swiped as I was lowering the car.  The damage to the driver’s door was too much and I now have to ger in the car from the passenger’s side.

It was early afternoon before I finally got home.  The power went out soon after I started working.  I called the electric company to report the outage.  It took a while for someone to show up.  When the person came over to turn my electricity, he told me my electricity was turned off because I hadn’t paid my electric bill.  I told him I always paid on time and asked to see the turnoff notice.  He turned off the electricity to the wrong house.  My power was restored only after another phone call to the electric company.

I am home, safe and sound,  I will be going to bed before anything else happens to me.

Bedside Manner

I will be blogging from my bed for the next couple of days.  I went to a “Hello Kitty” meetup at Chuck E. Cheese.  I got in an accident on my way home from the meetup.  My car was hit from behind.  My back is very stiff.  The woman who hit me was in bad shape.  She was texting somebody while driving when she rammed me.  She wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was knocked unconsious.   When the police checked her out, they noticed a Blackberry on her lap.  The display read, “LOL”.

She is doing fine now and will be released from the hospital tomorrow morning.  I’ll be fine with some bed rest.  Karilyn, if you’re reading this, the only thing I will be able to do in bed for the next couple days is sleep and blog.  I am sorry.
